Frequently Asked Questions

  • Haptikos is an advanced haptic technology platform that combines hardware and software to deliver precise motion tracking and realistic touch feedback for immersive digital interactions. Haptikos consists of the Haptikos Exoskeletons, a high-precision motion tracking and haptic feedback system that captures hand movements and simulates real-world touch sensations, and Haptik_OS, the software ecosystem, Haptikos App and Haptikos Unity SDK, that powers Haptikos exoskeletons, enabling calibration, customization, and seamless integration with XR and robotics applications.
  • Haptikos is designed for professionals in training, robotics, industrial design, medical, aerospace, and research, where precise hand tracking and immersive haptics enhance workflows and training experiences.
  • Haptikos features submillimeter precision motion tracking with 24 degrees of freedom (DoF), instant tactile sensations, physics-based interaction libraries, and an exoskeleton-based design for superior accuracy and ergonomics – setting it apart from traditional glove-based solutions.
  • Haptikos exoskeletons use a 24-DoF exoskeleton-based tracking system to precisely capture finger and hand movements. The exoskeletons provide tactile feedback, simulating textures and surface interactions, as well as kinesthetic feedback, which resists movement and simulates physical constraints. Kinesthetic feedback will be integrated later this year.
  • Haptikos exoskeletons provide precise finger and hand tracking without external sensors. However, for 3D localization (global hand position in space), a 3rd party system is required, such as VR controllers, or HTC Vive trackers. This ensures accurate placement and interaction within virtual environments.
  • Yes, the exoskeletons are fully wireless, offering low – latency communication and up to eight hours of continuous battery life, ensuring uninterrupted use in professional environments.
  • Haptik_OS is the software ecosystem that powers Haptikos exoskeletons. It includes the Haptikos App, where users connect Haptikos exoskeletons, calibrate profiles, and manage hand motion data, as well as the Haptikos Unity SDK, which enables developers to integrate Haptikos exoskeletons into XR and robotics applications.
  • Yes, Haptik_OS is a separate part of the solution. It is comprised of Haptikos App and Haptikos Unity SDK. While the Haptikos exoskeletons provide hardware capabilities, Haptik_OS enables interaction, development, and integration.
  • Yes, haptik_OS requires a separate license. With every purchase of a pair of Haptikos exoskeletons, we provide 12 months of access to the Haptikos App for free. The Haptikos Unity SDK requires a separate annual license. If multiple users need access to the SDK, you must purchase the corresponding number of licenses.
  • Haptikos App  is required to calibrate, configure, and use Haptikos exoskeletons for end applications. Developers integrating Haptikos into their applications will also need the Haptikos Unity SDK.
  • Haptik_OS is compatible with Windows, OpenXR, SteamVR, and Unity at the moment. Our Unity SDK allows for seamless integration into XR, and robotics applications.
  • The Haptikos Unity SDK provides ready-to-use libraries for gestures, grabbables, haptics, and UI interactions, along with their documentation, making integration straightforward.
  • Yes! The Haptikos Unity SDK allows for custom gesture recognition, programmable haptic feedback, and adaptive interactions tailored to your application.
